It was a toss up between a big fat juicy hamburger or some 'street' food for dinner last night.
Despite the Arctic conditions I went for the 'street' food.
At the corner of 3rd and 56th are a couple of couple of food carts which serve 'meat' over rice. When I was here last year there was always crazily long queues at them (the cart on the southwest corner has a much longer queue than the one on the southeast corner even though they are run by the same people).
I joined the line for the southeast corner cart and order a 'mix meat' -- lamb and chicken over rice with some flat bread (naan?) and a bit of salad. The secret, apparently, is to then liberally apply the 'secret' white sauce and chilli sauce.
The food was good, filling and very cheap ($6). Oh and the chilli sauce had a serious kick.
