Flying Tomorrow?

So thanks to the loonie lefties in Unite/BASSA my original flight to JFK was cancelled! I got this news via a text message and two emails.

After a painless phone call to the Executive Club line I was able to re-book on to an earlier flight which was scheduled to fly. Unfortunately the 'earlier' flight had a departure time of 8.20am, therefore requiring a crazily early start for me and Cliff.

After a bit of thinking I decided to book a hotel at LHR for the Friday night (and the T5 Travelodge was only £32.50). Cliff was going to cycle over after he finished work. I'd get the bus to T5 in the middle of the night and he'd drive home in my car at some time more conducive to normal human waking patterns.

Anyway this was the plan for a few hours before I checked the BA website and found out my original flight (at the civilised departure time of 11am) had been reinstated!

Again a quick call to BA and I was back on BA175. The hotel booking was fully refundable, so apert from the credit card fee, no money lost.

I'm all packed now and fingers crossed this time tomorrow I'll be in New York!
